Our promise is to provide all of our customers with quality roasted coffee they can share with friends, family, co-workers and costumers. We're obsessively passionate about it. Carmine Diorio

The man behind the coffee...

As a young boy Carmine would join his father on his cake route in Brooklyn, New York.  At an early age, he quickly learned responsibility and respect.  His father made him in charge of collecting and counting the money received from customers.  Young Carmine would even drive the cake truck from time to time even though he wasn't old enough to hold a drivers license.

He always wanted to own his own business.....

At the age of 18, Carmine was offered a job working for Jordan Coffee as a route man for $50 a week. His boss, Danny and coffee machine mechanic Mr. Brody, taught him everything he needed to know about the coffee business. Carmine quickly learned how to make repairs on urns, how to clean and rebuild coffee machines and to replace broken parts. Through his various skills he became the number one worker requested by all customers and he quickly learned the importance of proving quality costumer service.

Change of paths....

After working for Jordan Coffee for 14 years, Carmine decided it was time to move on and start his own business.  He quit the coffee business and ran a small route of his own in Staten Island, New York. He was shortly joined by his previous boss Danny.  Together they worked the route for about a year, when they decided it be best to sell and head back to the coffee trade.

Back to coffee...

With no money and just a truck, Carmine and Danny headed back to the coffee business and worked for JB Coffee in Long Island.

Established in 1963...

In 1963 Carmine was approached by his friend Joe and asked if he would like to pack his own coffee under his company name.  Joe had a mixer, grinder and packaging machine he would give to Carmine to start his business.  Although Carmine and Danny had no money to pay Joe at that time, they took the equipment and moved to Long Island and Dariene Coffee Company was established.

Dariene Coffee Company...

Carmine devoted his life to learning every aspect of the coffee business.  He roasted the coffee, made all repairs to the machines and learned to be a success business man.  One of his greatest accomplishments was when he bought out Danny and was the sole owner of the company.

Original Long Island Roasters...

Dariene Coffee Company was the first coffee roasting and private labeling company on Long Island.  Carmine was driven by his personal fulfillment and the satisfaction of his customers.

Continued Success...

Dariene Coffee Company continues to provide it's costumers with top service and products.

Where does the name "Dariene" come from?

Dariene Coffee

The name Dariene was inspired by Carmine's first born child.  In 1960 Carmine and Danny took a chance by starting there own coffee company in Mount Vernon, New York.  The original Dariene Coffee dealt strictly with buying and selling coffee.  Their customers were primarily small delis, restaurants, hotels and other local shops.
